One of My Favorite Times of the Year

I love the Fall season! The changing of the colors is stunning. The weather is beautiful. And of course all the fun Halloweeny traditions are always so fun.

I love the weather coming of a bit and being pleasant again to be outside after a long, hot summer. We looked for Fall colors and fallen leaves at Highland Glenn park. Here Tessa is showing off her finds.

And of course a trip to Highland Glenn park wouldn't be complete without feeding the ducks.

We had fun at Dry Creek park too. This little cutie climbed up the stairs all on her own to play on the playground.

We've graduated from the baby swings and loved to be pushed high!

This friendly horse lives bordering Dry Creek park. The horse loved Tessa feeding it. Tessa kept asking me to pull long grass for her again and again. Jenny was a bit scared of the horse. She didn't want to feed it and wanted me to hold her whenever the horse neighed.

It was warm enough to go to the zoo in the late Fall this season. We had a great time seeing the animals. Tessa loved this orangutan that was 3 years old same as her. It was very active swinging around on these ropes that were quite high. It made Tessa really nervous that he would fall until a zookeeper calmed her down by explaining how strong he is. We also really like the sea lions and seals. We happened to be looking at them when the zookeepers started feeding them and the zookeepers had them do tricks and then rewarded them with food. It was really cool. We felt like we were at SeaWorld. At places like a zoo, we're at the age of the add-ons I think. We had to ride the train and we even rode the merry-go-round too. Tessa would have liked to ride the merry-go-round again and again but we at least put our foot down on only riding it once.

We went to see a giant pumpkins competition, which was neat.

Going to the pumpkin patch is one of my favorite traditions. Here we are at a small patch - Bob's pumpkin patch. We had a lot of fun picking out our pumpkins. Tessa always likes to pick out the littlest one she can find. The ones she picked was still attached to the vine even! I love picking from a real pumpkin patch.

Jenny likes the littlest ones too.

Then the patch had a petting zoo, a small haybale playground, wagon ride, train ride, and pony or horse ride (depending on age).

The wagon took you around a real functioning farm seeing horses, goats, chickens, bees, cats, a grain silo, a barn and more. Jenny loved this little kitten there.

We had a lot of fun picking out our pumpkins. Then after, we painted them, which was fun.

Then we also went to the Halloween party that Edge homes puts on every year. The kids had a lot of fun with face painting, carnival games, and a mini haybale maze.

Then of course Halloween itself was so much fun. Tessa wanted to dress up as Tinkerbell. It was the first year she has been old enough to actually request what she wanted to dress up as. And it was a lot of fun as a family to make her costume all together.

Then trick-or-treating was a lot of fun! We probably counted the days down until Halloween for about a week. Tessa was so excited to get to go trick-or-treating. Tessa wanted to get a lot of candy so we were probably out for an hour and a half or so -- a while for how little our kids are.

Jenny is dressed up as a gingerbread man. It was a costume I had made for Tessa last year but she didn't wear it as the puff paint hadn't dried in time for trick-or-treating. Jenny had a fun time with trick-or-treating. Here she is her nose a bit pink after just getting home from trick-or-treating and enjoying a bit of the spoils.

It's been getting cold the last little while and I think we're officially out of Fall and into Winter but it has been a really great Fall.
